Interview

I am a dork sometimes.  The interview tomorrow is a phone interview, so I will not be driving to Milwaukee after all.  Yay, actually, because yesterday I drove to Lansing, IL and today I am in Waukesha all day.  It will be good to not have to drive again tomorrow.

Also, here's an unexpected development.  There is a way cool position open at CH2M/Hill in Milwuakee - Regional manager of project controls.  It has been offered to the guy who got the position I interviewed for in Jan.  He's turning it down, but thinks I'm a good candidate - from the sound of it, it's extremely similar to what I was doing at RMT (most of the time).  It's a desk job just inside the city limit (no downtown action).  It could be a job you'd retire from, if you didn't mind the commute, or if you were willing to eventually move closer (like after the kids graduate HS).  It doesn't hurt to throw your hat in the ring just to see where you stand, right?  Plus, it could give me leverage with JCI.

Well, I don't know what CH2M/Hill is but it surely does not hurt to look around for a better deal. The commute might be murder, or it might be a nice hour at the beginning and end of the day to compress/decompress and listen to cool audiobooks.
