The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Wow!  Is anyone else watching this?  I'm loving that two of the three leads are STRONG women who kick butt.  Some of the writing is a bit obvious, but the action and FX are good so far.  I'm loving the "Tin Man" but then again, Summer Glau perfected this character type (awesome/disconnected/complex) in Firefly, and she's pretty fine to look at too.  Lena Heady is no Linda Hamilton, but then, who is?  She's still tough as nails, and believable as a mom desperately trying to protect her son.  Thomas Dekker was recently seen on Heroes, and he's a beliveable teenaged boy too - albeit a bit more communicative than my own.

It's gotta be weird to jump 8 yrs into the future - everything seems really similar on the surface, but so much has happened and changed.  Not knowing what 9/11 is for example.  You expect to come up against things you don't know with a big time change, but one where people you knew are still alive has got to be just weird.  I'm interested to see how they keep the discontinuity present.  It would be a shame to drop it after just the first two eps.

Anyway, I'm just glad there's going to be something interesting to look at on Monday nights.  I guess they got all this in the can before the writers' strike.  Good on them.

I haven't seen this yet, but it's something I definitely want to catch -- most likely on DVD. I love Summer Glau, and I used to be a big Terminator fan, so it seems a good fit. It's too bad Thomas Dekker had to leave HEROES because his agent found out his character was gay, but at least he got the job he left HEROES to secure.
