Music Meme
Okay, I'm finally going to address this tag, because I love
nayad and don't want to disappoint her, but I'm pretty sure she'll be disappointed anyway. My music is old and boring and I've been going through a total retro phase anyway lately.
Directions: List five songs that you currently love. Doesn't matter what genre, just whatever's grooving you currently. List titles and artists, then tag five other folks.
Actual songs, huh?
Mostly, I listen to music in the car. And for most of the summer I've been carless. When I put music on at home, it's the digital cable stuff, so I have very little control over what I'm hearing. I usually choose alternative, adult alternative, retro-active, or 80's for somewhat current stuff, but I also put on swing/big band, jazz, smooth jazz, reggae, and salsa y merengue.
What I carry in the car:
1. Meatloaf - Bat Out of Hell, and the song I like best is probably "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Nights), but I also like "All Revved Up with No Place to Go." (You can't fall asleep to Meatloaf).
2. The Best of Elvis Costello - "Alison." Of course, just about everything on the CD is a close second.
3. Gaia Consort - Gaia Circles - "Move to the Country" is the obvious choice, but I really love "The Old Ones" and "The Rede (An it Harm None)" which are at opposite ends of the emotional spectrum.
4. Sting's entire body of work. Currently carrying around Disc 4 of the entire Police output (meaning the last stuff they recorded) and "Sacred Love."
5. Diana Krall - I have no idea which album CD is which anymore, but I love "Do Nothing Till You Hear it From Me," and "Straighten Up and Fly Right."
What I like when it comes up on the radio playlist:
1. John Eddy - LOL, do I know the names of the songs? There are 2 that I like, maybe "If you're there when I get back," and "the only thing she left was me," but those may be just my favorite lyrics from the songs.
2. Jason Mraz John Mayer - Your Body is a Wonderland
3. Five for Fighting - 100 Years (also, Superman)
4. The Romantics - What I Like About You
5. Donnie Iris - Ah, Leah (wonder of wonders, it occasionally crops up on the classic rock station, even though DI was pretty new wave/alternative back in the day).
Who to tag?
