Friday's Report
Not going to do the ticker today. I'm at 140 again, which is cool, considering how much I ate and drank this week, but it's not the kind of progress I can brag about. Hopefully the new job is going to rev up my activity level enough to combat losing the daily walks. Oh, who am I kidding, haven't walked regularly in 2 weeks anyway, and with winter arriving, wasn't likely to get back on *that* horse. But, increased activity is increased activity. Every little bit helps.
I am going to have to figure out how I'm going to handle lunches. The trailer has nothing in the way of appliances, and there is a Culver's just 2 blocks away. Not a good omen. Carrying in lunch in the dead of winter is a bit of a challenge, since I'm such a soup fiend in cold weather. And I'll have to carry in my 2 qts of water each day. I can't get away with little or no food during the day - my blood sugar will not allow it, so I'm going to have to get creative.

Hmm, lunches. If you prefer hot soup, how about a Thermos? Takes planning ahead, but maybe make a big pot of soup once a week and portion it out? Plus, maybe adding in a sandwich, couple pieces of fruit, find a store that makes packaged salads and pick one up on the way to work a couple days a week? I'm not sure if these work for you...?

Also, the thermos is an ok thing, but I've not had a lot of luck with those in the past. I've always kept instant soup, tea and hot choc in my desk, but with no ready access to hot water or a microwave, that won't work this time. And I love leftovers, but no way to reheat them. This time of year, hot food is required. Temps will be well below freezing for the next 3 months at least ::sigh:: Salads don't really do it for me in the winter, but I thrive on them in warm weather, when I'm practically uninterested in anything that's been cooked.
For the upcoming week, I've got some of those flavored tuna salad and chicken salad packs, pretzels, water, oranges. I'm going to look for a good thermos, and I've learned there is a family-style restaurant nearby. At least there I can get something hot if I need it.
