thisisbone is the first slash author I ever read, lo those many (7?) years ago. She brought us the delightfully eye-opening "Two-Player Game" starring Danny Rydell, Casey McCall (SportsNight) and Stacy Kerr (volleyball fame). It was a lovely first-time story for a first-time reader, and it still fills my heart with love and glee. I remember thinking, "of course they'd be together." She totally sold me on Dan/Casey. Also, this is actually the only story I've ever saved to my hard drive permanently.

Then, when being pimped into Due South, I learned that Bone had already been there. Well now. Benton Fraser and Ray Kowalski and her collaboration with Aristide on The Better Angels (something I found myself rereading frequently for awhile). Or, even better: The Course. Yowza!

Then there was the thing with the pudding cups (SGA) which isn't even her best work, but it's hilarious and then it warms up. ;)

And now! dammit! I have resisted SPN (Supernatural) for a very long time, but today I needed a break, and Bone was happy to oblige. She's been throwing a series of snippets at

yin_again for her birthday, and all I can say is, go here if you're at all in the mood to melt your brain. She crossed SPN with Friday Night Lights (neither of which I watch). Two sets of brothers, and the older of one pair gets together with the younger of the other, who turns out to be Dean's "latest, youngest, and apparently greatest lay." Not nearly 'nuff said about that, but I'm just a;llsdjasdijdk over here.

Another thing I'll say about Bone - for the longest time I was convinced she was one of those rare male slash writers. Her men are really men. They aren't stupidly or artificially feminized. They are believable men. Not even when she indulged in that genderfuckery in SGA did she lose the very male flavor of her writing. I've got a lot of experience with men in my life, and I guess Bone does too, because her guys are familiar. I like that alot.

She also likes college basketball and Ace Young ::hee:: Go, Tarheels!

*points to icon* That's Tim. He's one of the best things on TV right now. Top ten, at least. You really should give FNL a try if you ever have a free moment, because it's truly excellent tv.

Thanks so much for the rec! I probably wouldn't have come across it on my own, but those are my fandoms of the moment, and after reading those stories I can't stop smiling.
