Drinking is under-rated
Thursday, January 26th, 2006 06:21 amReally. What other activity can you do that has so many variations? There is truly some form of alcoholic beverage, whether it's mixed or straight that goes with every single thing we eat, matches every mood, every event.
If you do it right, you get to a nice happy place where you, and everyone around you, is more relaxed, interesting and charming than you ever imagined possible.
Of course there's a down-side. Too little and you don't hit the zone. Too much and. Well we all know that one - it affects us all differently, and sometimes it's different depending on your mood or choice of poison, but I know melancholy probably isn't the goal for most and neither is belligerent (unless you're a frat boy) or mean or comatose. And the hangover's no treat either.
But most of us are intelligent adults. A little practice in our 20s and we're pretty much able to hit the happy zone whenever we feel like it. I don't want to dance on tables, just smile a lot and believe the person who is flirting with me will actually remember me the next day.
