Fandom keeps me in touch with my kids

I need to get some sleep.  Fitful rest last night, and out of the house by 0545 this morning.  Tomorrow I drive home, hopefully arriving by 1800, in time for the weekly ritual - the deck at Great Dane.

However, before I forget, I have to record what happened last night when Rupert got home from his baseball game (they lost 15-10, poo).  He was searching the fridge for edibles, and I was trying to tempt him with leftover salad and spaghetti which I'd saved for him.  He wasn't enthusiastic, so I suggested fruit.  

"Oh yeah, fruit would be good."
"I bought grapes today."
"O RLY?"  

Yes, he pronounced this phrase the way it is spelled, accompanied by raised eyebrows.  I looked sideways at him and said, with due solemnity, "SRSLY."

He giggled.  My 14.5 yr old son *giggled* at me.  Then he said, "Oh, Mom."
"What?" snickering.
"You and your geekness."
"When are you going to stop being surprised?"

Thank you fandom, for exposing me to all the latest lingo, so I actually have a clue when my kids sling their stuff at me. :)
