I'm only a month late posting these, and I don't even have all of them, but here is a small sampling of Mavis's Junior Prom pics.

For those who don't know, she went with her best girlfriend, because the girlfriend's boyfriend dumped her a week before the prom, and Mavis's boyfriend had already announced he wasn't going, and agreed that she could go with whomever she wanted to go with.  Too bad for the boy who had originally asked her.  When he found out she wasn't going to break up with T, he broke off their date, and ended up not going at all.  She had a great time, and I didn't have to worry that her prom date would get her pregnant :)

On to the pics

It's funny how our tastes overlap.  For my Jr. Prom, I had a burgundy off-the-shoulder gown and an up-do.  For Sr. Ball, I had a cherry red halter dress.

[personal profile] aesc  made it easy with her fabulous cap)!  She has an SGA AU story called Junk Cheap with absolutely delightful moments in it, including Rodney encountering John in the hall of their building, wearing this shirt.  Also, the shop sign "open sometimes. closed sometimes." probably needs it's own shirt, LOL

I'm traveling to LaCrosse on a pretty regular basis right now - practically weekly, and a co-worker insisted suggested I stay at the Stoney Creek aka "the Moose Lodge" instead of the Hampton across the highway.  Stoney Creek is quite large with a bar in the basement, several conference rooms, an indoor pool, a nice breakfast room, free wireless all over the building, and a total "north woods" decorating scheme.  There's a statue of a moose standing in a goldfish pond by the carport, and I swear the moose looks like he's smiling.  There's also a statue of a wolf family near the parking lot entrance.  There are lots of kitschy signs and decorations all over the building and in the rooms, but the best by far has to be the salt and pepper shakers in the breakfast room:

So if you have to stay anywhere near LaCrosse, give the Moose Lodge a try.  Take exit 5 toward LaCrosse off of I-90.  You want the south side of the freeway - away from the Home Depot/Walmart side.
